1992’s Geodesic Dreams: The Best Short Fiction of Gardner Dozois is a collection of Gardner Dozois’ best short fiction. As far as I can, Dozois himself made the selections. Due to the linear nature of time, the collection omits works written after 1992; if you’re looking for Dozois works from after 1992, this is a poor place to start1.

Blatant Self-Aggrandizement
1996’s The Year’s Best Science Fiction: Thirteenth Annual Collection is the thirteenth volume in Gardner Dozois’ Best Science Fiction of the Year anthology series. The anthology was also published under the title The Best New Science Fiction: 10th Annual Collection, which seems pretty confusing.

Gardner Dozois’ 1995 The Year’s Best Science Fiction, Twelfth Annual Collection is, as one might expect, the twelfth annual anthology of notable science fiction edited by Gardner Dozois. The contents of the anthology were first published in 1994. In addition to the essays listed in the table of contents, each story is accompanied by a short biographical note about the author.

Big Hair, Big Guns!
Gardner Dozois’ 1989 The Year’s Best Science Fiction: Sixth Annual Collectionis, rather unsurprisingly, the sixth volume in his series of annual anthologies collecting the best SF of the previous year. In the case of the Sixth, that year was 1988. Dozois, unlike some people I could mention, actually believed in letting years run to their end before deciding which works of that year were best.

Gardner Dozois’ 1988 The Year’s Best Science Fiction: Fifth Annual Collection is the fifth Dozois anthology of noteworthy science fiction from the previous calendar year. I too am horrified that Dozois used the term “collection” when “anthology” would have been more appropriate.
